Plitvice Lakes is the largest and most visited national park in Croatia. Besides being on the list of Croatian national parks, it is also on the UNESCO World Heritage list, and therefore a must-see when visiting Croatia.
Plitvice Lakes consist of 16 lakes: the twelve Upper Lakes from which waterfalls flow into the four Lower Lakes. The Large Waterfall, which is 78 meters high, is the highest waterfall of Plitvice Lakes, a scene that inspires both awe and admiration at the same time.
Apart from the lakes and waterfalls, Plitvice Lakes is rich in flora and fauna. The lakes are full of fish, while lynxes, wolves and brown bears freely roam the forests.
